According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Kentucky is the 26^th most populous of the 50 United States and the population of the state was approximately 4,339,367, which was an increase of 7.4% from the 2000 Census.

KY Federal Census was actually started in 1800 because it achieved statehood in 1792. The 1890 Decennial census schedules were completely ruined in the 1921 warehouse fire, but the records on Veterans and Widows survived the fire, and can be used for various research works. However, no state census records for Kentucky till today is known.

Purpose of census:
